I so enjoy traveling Morocco myself with my starting point being Tarifa, that I want to share it with you. It does take a certain 'mind-set', it is Africa and not Europe , and for some it can be a real culture shock.
I remain convinced that if you follow my recommendations you will enjoy it, feel safe, not be hassled and return exhausted but richer for the experience. I would stress inmediately that this is not a guide, that all opinions and recommendations are entirely my own, and that I certainly stand to be corrected on any factual information, although I have done my best to be as accurate and up-to-date as possible. I will start with my latest travels through Morocco.
Day trip To tangier
We have now worked for several years with our guide, Said. We regularly spend a day with him ourselves which we thoroughly enjoy and which enables us to talk not only to him but to the owners of the various establishments to which he takes Dar Cilla guests.
Some of the tours we organized
It is our fervent hope that Morocco will remain a peaceful country and not get caught up in the violence currently decimating other countries in northern Africa/ the Middle East. There is so much positive energy, so many major new projects, (a complete ‘revamping’ of Tangier for example with new harbours recently completed), an excellent infrastructure (new auto routes, and the TGV will be operative soon).
I would strongly recommend you go there now, before the country becomes too popular. The Royal Cities route and a tour to the High Atlas are in nearly every tour guide – be different and take an individualized, personalized tour to the fabulous interior of the country and see THE REAL MOROCCO.
We are happy to help organize this for our guests – to whom we are able to describe our experiences in even more detail , and to sense whether they are the sort of fun-loving travellers who will enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the tours we do.
